“What was a great discovery for me was the strong team spirit of our staff; We all shared the work equally; no one backed down at a critical moment”.
It was April 2020, when I was called up to the COVID-19 center. I remember, the most difficult thing I had to overcome was being away from my family. We, the medical staff, were isolated from our families to ensure their safety.
The fear of an unknown virus also had a depressing effect – no one knew what would happen tomorrow. All this was accompanied by technical difficulties, a lack of human resources, a limited number of safety equipment, the constant change of information, etc.
But I realized that it was necessary to look for positive things even in times of disaster. What was a great discovery for me was the strong team spirit of our staff. We all shared the work equally, no one backed down at a critical moment. I got to know my teammates better. During this time, I made many close friends.
Moreover, my family members and I, while being at a distance, have gotten closer. The relation between us strengthened and eventually we became more connected to each other than ever.
